Hidden Treasure (part 1)

Once there was an old man named "John Smith" who lived in a village called "Storybroke". He had a wrinkled oval face and grey hair. He worked as a baker and he always helps everyone who needed his help and advice. He was a very wise and kind man, therefore everyone like to be around him. Storybroke was a peaceful small village which was surrounded by big trees and dense forest. There were also a big waterfall, rivers and beautiful parks. Most of the villagers worked as farmers and bakers.

John Smith lived with his son named “Taylor Smith”. His wife passed away when she gave birth to his son. Taylor was a young handsome and spoiled teenager. He had a straight brown hair and an oval face. He hardly ever worked hard and helped his father. All he done was just adding burden to his father. However, he loved his father very much.

As time went by, John could not stop aging and his body became weaker every single day.  He started to think about his son and imagined how he will live without him. Suddenly, something came up in his mind.

He immediately called his son, “Taylor, my son, come here for a second”

Taylor walked to his father and asked, “What is it again? I thought I already filled up your glass. Do you need more water?”

“That is not the reason why I called you”, John said.

“Let me guess, you want me to go catch the chicken again, aren’t you?” said Taylor with a really annoying tone.

“It’s not that either”, said John in a soft and limp tone.

“Then what is it Father? Just go ahead and say it. I’m getting tired standing here and waiting for you.” Taylor grumbled.

John tried to rise and sit, leaning his back to the wall “You know that I’m in a bad condition and I was not able to do anything like I used to before. You have already grown into a man now and I want you to do something for me. You have to hear me out before you speak out your mind”, said John with a really serious face impression.

Taylor looked into his father face and nodded. He was curious about it and he could not wait any longer. He positioned his body near his father so that he could hear carefully about what his father is going to say.

John took a deep breath before he starts to say anything to his son. After a long breathe, he finally ready to say something. “My son, I want you to …”

Okay, I had to stop right there to make you curious about what Taylor’s father is going to say. Did you enjoy reading it guys? If so, do you have any idea of what John is going to say to his son? To find out the rest of the story, just keep your eyes open for my next post. Love you!

Third Journal

Hello beautiful people...

My mid-term test had finished and I am glad that it is over. I have done my best and study hard for it. Some of the scores had already come up and they are not too bad. Well some are good and some I need to work on more. This writing class had helped me so much with my writing skills because writing is basically everything. I mean, if I am doing a test, I had to write my answer on a piece of paper and for that I had to have a good writing skill.

Right now, I had written my own zodiac and also a recount text. The recount text was about an event called International Cultural Festival and Celebration, it was very interesting. I also learned about new vocabularies that I have never known nor used before during the process of writing them. I felt excited when I had to write about my own zodiac which never existed before. It made my imagination runs wild.

I fell like I still need to improve myself on several things. I need to search, learn, and use new vocabularies so everyone who read my writing does not fell bored. I need to learn to make my writing more interesting and eye-catching for the readers. Also about the grammar, spelling and punctuation marks. However, I will not forget about what I have learned and I will try to remember and maintain them.

My next assignment is to write a narrative. It is not just a regular narrative, but it is my own, original narrative that we create based on my imagination. I have already made a draft for it and gave it to the lecturer. So stay tune if you are curious about my narrative. Bye for now!

Cultural Event

Last week (8th March 2016), I went to International Cultural Festival and Celebration (ICFC). This event was held in Widya Mandala University Kalijudan. It was not just for Widya Mandala students but also for high school students. There were also some reporters and journalists. The event had seven countries that gave us information about each country. They were China, France, Belarus, Indonesia, Spain, Germany, and Netherland.

Each of them explained about each country. Some explained about the history of the country, culture, food, language, and fun fact. France, Germany, and Netherlands's representatives taught us several words in their languages. Indonesia's representative explained about Indonesian food, which called pecel. The most exciting part was when Spain's representative taught us how to do salsa dance. A bunch of people got on the stage and followed the dancers, there were two dancers. Some of them danced very funny and made everyone laugh so hard. I did not get to the stage because it was very crowded and we barely can move, so I just watched and took a picture of them.

Overall, the event was pretty awesome. It showed me about different culture that each country had. I got to learn new languages but I already forget some of them honestly, because there were lots of languages that they taught us. However, I will try to learn new languages when I have a free time. I have always wanted to learn France, but it was a little bit hard for me. I think it is exciting to learn different cultures from all over the world.

If I could suggest, it would be better if the committee add more chairs so that everyone can seat and enjoy the show. They also should turn on the air conditioner a little higher because there were lots of people in the room and it felt a little bit hot. That’s all I can say for this event.

Au revoir, bonne journée.

My Spin on Zodiacs

In general, there are 12 zodiacs that most people know. They are Ram, Bull, Twins, Crab, Lion, Maiden, Scales, Scorpion, Archer, Goat, Water-bearer, and fish. I am pretty sure that people know that, but what if there is a “Moose Zodiac”? Have you ever think of it? If the answer is no, I am going to tell you right now what kind of person who has a Moose Zodiac.

The first thing that I am going to talk about is the general behavior. A person who has a moose zodiac is a quiet, observant, and gentle person. This person is hard worker who pursue her (his) dream and they have strong reason of what they believe in. Moose are sensitive, but this is not a weaknesses. They life their lives calmly and they like to observe others. Therefore, they gain knowledge and understand what is going on in their habitat. However, if they are pushed too far, they will blow up and be aggressive. People who have this zodiac, tends to surround themselves with familiar faces. They like to try new things and explore the world.

The next is about love and friendship. People who have moose zodiac are the kind of best friend that you want to have. They are caring and compassionate people who will sit and listen to a friend’s problems with great patient and empathy. They will tell you the truth whether you like it or not. They are reliable and trustworthy, most people appreciate having them around. However, when it comes to romance, it takes time. They want to find their identity first, then figure out what kind of person whom they need in their lives to be the love of their lives.

The last is about careers and goals. These kinds of people can be leaders, but often will prefer to be the “right hand man”. They do not care about fame or attention, in fact they find it to be an unnecessary distraction. Several career options for these people are soldier, secret agent, police officer, psychologist, designer, and archeologist.

So that is it my kind of style of describing a new zodiac, which is Moose. I hope you guys enjoy reading this and stay tune for my next post. Happy exploring!
